About Our Family

Explore the rich history and traditions of the Kannothara family, rooted in the Knanaya Catholic community of Kerala, India.

The Kannothara Legacy

The Kannothara family belongs to the Knanaya Catholic community, a unique endogamous group within the Saint Thomas Christians of Kerala, India. Our history is tied to the migration of Knai Thoma and his followers from the Middle East to the Malabar Coast in 345 AD.

Our grandfather was a pillar of the community in Kottayam. He dedicated his life to preserving our cultural heritage while embracing the faith and values of Catholic teaching. As a respected elder, he helped maintain the balance between tradition and progress.

His commitment to education and community service set a standard that continues to guide our family today. Whether helping at the local church, teaching children, or providing assistance to neighbors in need, he embodied the spirit of compassion and service.

Faith & Community Values

At the heart of the Kannothara family is our commitment to the Catholic faith and the unique traditions of the Knanaya community. Our grandfather taught us that faith is not just something we believe, but something we live every day.

The practice of endogamy within our community has helped preserve our cultural identity for generations. While we honor this tradition, we also embrace the universal values of our faith: love, service, and compassion for all people.

Our family continues to be active in church and community activities, both in Kerala and wherever Kannothara family members have settled around the world. We maintain strong ties to our roots while adapting to new environments.
